Hello from Angie
My name is Angie Ebba (she/they) and I am a writer, educator, activist, artist and performer based in Portland, Oregon. I believe strongly in the transformative powers of creativity and have made it my life’s work to bring those transformative powers to others. I have a background in teaching (including a Master in Teaching and a Master in Transformative Language Arts) and have taught writing and art workshops for students of all ages. I am a white, queer, disabled, fat femme constantly learning to experience and move through the world in these identities. I fully believe in the power of words, art, and performance to help us gain a better understanding of ourselves, to build connections and community, and to make personal and social change.
About Rebel on Page
My goal with Rebel on Page is to provide creative offerings that encourage exploration, experimentation, and growth! Through my work I hope to:
…help others discover and learn more about themselves and the ways they move through the world,
…facilitate connections and a build a community of creators, writers, and magical truth-tellers,
…instigate change, be that personal and internal, or larger and systemic.
About financial accessibility
I am dedicated to Rebel on Page being financially accessible to all individuals who are interested in taking workshops or working with me personally. Because of this I offer sliding-scale options based on what you can pay for people of color, trans individuals, and disabled folks. I welcome questions and feedback.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I learn more about your offerings?
Check back here regularly or sign up for my monthly newsletter to be kept in the know about upcoming workshops and opportunities to work together.
I don’t know if I’m really a writer/artist; can I still work with you?
Do you put words on paper? Then you’re a writer! Do you play with colors and shapes? I call you an artist, then! I approach creative endeavors from a place of exploration, curiosity, and play, and encourage those I work with to do the same. I love working with writers and artists ranging from experienced to beginners. I look forward to working with you!
What’s your teaching/coaching style?
I want you to get the most possible out of our time working together. Because of this, during our first time meeting we’ll establish goals for whatever projects you’re undertaking and decide what we want our sessions to look like together. I believe my role as an educator and coach is to support you along your journey, be that by providing resources, giving feedback, or offering gentle guidance. I foster an environment that feels safe for risk-taking and vulnerability, so that you can delve into those real and raw places with your creative work. Prior students and clients have referred to me as compassionate, caring, and calm, and say that my classes are engaging, organized, and full of helpful resources.
